#14 [Be a Food Blogger] Singapore Food Street @ Changi Airport Terminal 3 Transit

One of the many places I went for lunch during my internship was the Singapore Food Street at Changi Airport Terminal 3 Transit Area, and I thought that it might be a good place to recommend for travellers transiting or departing via Terminal 3.

Featuring vintage-looking stalls selling local fares such Hainanese Chicken Rice, Mee Pok, Carrot Cake, Laksa and Hokkien Mee, the food street had a wide variety of authentic food choices, and is especially a good foodie place for tourists who are transiting in or departing from Singapore.

During my visit, I opted for a bowl of Bar Chor Mee Pok Dry (SGD$5) (dry yellow flat noodles with minced pork and gravy) while my colleagues opted for Kaya Toast set and Carrot Cakes (in black sauce).

The Bar Chor Mee Pok Dry was one of the must-try dishes from the food street, and one would definitely see long queues during mealtimes. Priced reasonably at SGD$5, the noodles are tangy, and the slightly spicy sauce (ps: I requested for less chilli) complemented the bowl of noodles. The pork was also cooked just nice, and the foodie experience was fulfilling. If there is one thing that can be improved, I believed it would be the portion! :D The bowl could definitely keep one 70-80% full, but for the good taste, I suggest having two bowls of the noodles!

Other local delights available at the food street includes Fried rice, Ice Kacang (shaved ice with red beans and syrup), Satay, local BBQ seafood, Spring rolls, Hokkien Mee, Laksa and Chendol. Saw my colleagues having them. :D Though I've not tried them out myself, the food seemed aesthetically appealing and that visual alone aroused my appetite! :D I took some photographs of these local foods, which are placed below.

Prices of these local fares at generally ranges around SGD$5 to SGD$15 at most. Most food are priced around SGD$8-$10, which I believe was quite okay given the airport setting and the retro-themed eating environment. Do take note that individual stalls at the food street do not accept cash. The food street adopts a stored-value card system where diners store an amount of money into their Singapore Food Street card at the cashier near the food street's entrance, before going off to buy food from individual stalls. The remaining balance can be refunded at the cashier. :D
