#11 [Be a Culture Lover, Be a fashionista] Helping out at Designer Lee Young Hee's Fashion Show @ SGK Fest 2015

Helping out at a fashion show was certainly not something I've imagined myself doing. But I was very lucky to be able to help out in a fashion show rehearsal, namely Hanbok designer Lee Young Hee's Fashion Show @ SGK Fest (or Korea Festival) 2015 held at Marina Bay Sands, as a K-S supporter.

Designer Lee Young Hee is a renounced South Korean Hanbok designer, who made her name in Europe. She focuses mainly on designing the Korean traditional clothings, or the Hanbok. :) And as quoted from Wiki, "Lee Young Hee has also designed hanbok for the first ladies of South Korea such as, Lady Lee Soon-ja, Lady Kim Ok-sook, and also Lady Kim Yoon-ok, first lady to previous president Lee Myung Bak, who was in position during 2008-2013." So I was really lucky to be able to help out in the fashion show of such a famous Korean designer.

Working at a fashion show was no easy feat. In the rehearsal that I was involved, I was placed in-charge of one of the models, and responsible for the entire rack of apparels for her. I had to be on my toes at all times. For instance, I had to prepare my model's next set of clothes while she was up on the stage, and I had to be quick enough to 'dress' her up in layers of Hanbok before she was called up for her turn. Every change of clothes took around less than 5 minutes, and was an extremely tasking job, and slow actions were definitely not tolerated.

While challenging, I enjoyed working in a fast paced environment and the experience was both eye-opening and fulfilling. I became quicker and quicker in my actions, and in the end, I was able to get my model's next set of clothes ready way before she finished her turn. :) (Ps: Giving myself a pat on the back for that. :D) I'm surprised at how fast time passes when you really put your mind into focusing on the task.

By the way, here're some photographs of my model on the runway/stage.  :D
