[Pre-180, Be a Reporter, My SJI Days] Covering Ex-SKarf member FerlynG's Launch at Bugis+ as part of SJI Korea Club (KCC) Media Team (with media invite)

Reporting as an official media personnel has always been something I wanted to do.

And as year 2015 started, fellow Korean Club (SJI KCC) representative Iswarya and I received our very first media invite! We were invited to cover FerlynG's <First> album launch at Bugis+ on 2 January 2015 as official school media personnel for SJI KCC. :D This was SJI KCC's second time with Ferlyn since our closed door meet-up session with her in June 2014. In addition, this was also Ferlyn's first solo album since her leave from SKarf.

We were invited by our SJI Old Boy, Alan Chan, CEO of IGlobal Star (Ferlyn's then entertainment company) to cover this event. We took a photograph with him, before going to our allocated media seats, so you could see a picture of 3 Josephians--1 Old Boy and 2 Old-girls-to be (we hadn't graduated in January 2015) right below.

While on the topic of SJI Old Boys/Girls, we are all proud to be a Josephian! And as IGlobalStar collaborated in a company called Big Boss, with Wise Entertainment (from Lee Wei Song Lee Si Song School of Music), we would like to wish Alan the best of luck for his new collaboration! SJI will always be behind you!

Coming back to FerlynG, she greeted fans in both Korean and Mandarin. (FerlynG's album was a Kpop Mandopop Fusion Album) This was but of course accompanied by her signature smile.

Then we saw fellow Kpop artiste Mint on stage rooting for Ferlyn where they both did the 'Saranghae' heart sign. (Ps: Mint is from the Kpop girl group TinyG) Mint greeted fans and spoke in English, with Ferlyn translating some of the harder questions by the MC into Korean for her (she replied in English though).

Following the build-up of suspense and excitement, Ferlyn performed her title track 'Luv Talk' feat. TinyG's Mint. The track was a Korean-Mandarin track. Half of the song was sung in Mandarin and the rest in Korean along with Mint. The dance was pitch-perfect and the rhythm was extremely good.

FerlynG's next track was actually a mandarin track titled ‘不见不散’ (Don't forget our date), where she showed her powerful vocals.

Last but not least, there's an autograph session. To heighten up our coverage, I went up on stage with my album (which I bought on the event itself) to grab a signature. I saw FerlynG up close and told her that I was from SJI. She even responded that she remembered both Iswarya and I from June (2014)!

I asked if Ferlyn could look at the camera that Iswarya was holding back then. She gladly agreed and smiled for the camera. We had a quick photograph taken, though not a full-posed one since we couldn't find our camera for a moment.

It was a great experience for us and we really enjoyed the launch. We were also glad that we could foster school spirit in this event! All the best, FerlynG for your solo debut and all the best to our fellow Josephian, Alan in IGlobal Star!

And by the way, here's my signed album :)
